It’s neither very complicated nor expensive to get rid of fresh or dried grease stains. Following a few easy steps, you can do it at home reasonably easily.

What would you need to start the process?

  1. Cardboard or an old towel
  2. An old toothbrush
  3. Some baking soda
  4. Dish-washing liquid

If you have collected the above materials you are fully ready to start the process to remove grease stains from your loving cloth.

The step by step process to remove fresh grease stain:

  1. Lay the clothing on a flat surface.
  2. Set the cardboard or old towel just underneath the stain.
  3. Sprinkle some baking soda on the stain and pour little dishwashing liquid onto the soda to cover it well. Leave the mixture on the clothing for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Scrub the mixture onto the stain moderately. (Don’t scrub hard that may damage the fabric).
  5. While scrubbing you’ll notice the mixture changing color and turning brown. Continue scrubbing for 2-3 minutes then remove the first round of mixture away and apply more.
  6. Keep scrubbing with the brush and repeat the process until the mixture no longer turns brown.
  7. Once the stain is removed wash the clothing as you normally would. Use warm water for washing. Be careful not to use very hot water, because some cotton clothing may shrink in hot water. So use your best judgment depending on the type of your clothing.
  8. Check closely before drying the clothing to make sure the stain is gone.
